Dear Representative Rehwinkel-Vasalinda, I am writing as a member of your district in hopes that you will support the continuance and funding of our Solar Rebate Program in the State of Florida. I am a proponent of Alternative Energy, and support all our legislative efforts to continue to promote, not only rebates for energy efficient appliances, but more importantly, our Solar initiatives for the State. As you may know, this program is scheduled to Sundown on June 30, 2010. Unfortunately, we have a very large lobby for energy solutions that can take many years, and exorbitant amounts of State Money, to implement which many times do not even materialize. These programs to put in Nuclear Power, or Drill For oil off our pristine shores, or import coal are costly, and more money can be spent promoting and Defending site placement of these technologies than is ever considered for the entire Alternative Energy Program. The By- products of these can also be devastating for our State and our Nation. Solar Energy is Clean, and can be implemented in just a few days or months to produce energy we can use now. I know Utility Companies are also a great lobby, but I want to encourage you to consider funding for Solar and Alternative Energy a Must for the State of Florida. We cannot let this small, fledgling program die on the vine. Florida has only committed small amounts of money to the rebate program in comparison to the overall budget considerations. We must stand together to keep the valuable rebate program in place. To see the popularity of this program, you have only to look into the amazing response we have had for the few funds that have been made available. Please take a moment to familiarize your office with this program, and support legislation. to increase funding and continue supporting Alternative energy in Florida during the upcoming session. We, the people of this district, and of Florida, thank you for your support. Sincerely yours,
